    Hi,

it will be the replacement, but this is basically still a secret, don’t tell anyone yet ?? I just went ahead and pushed the alpha version to the plugin repository to make development easier for me.

TablePress is being rewritten from scratch, and I’ll be able to finally revert/change some (as it turned out) bad implementation choices that I made in WP-Table Reloaded, like the internal data format and other things.

As these changes are kind of drastical, and as backwards compatibility could be lost in some weird setups (e.g. for people with custom extensions or adjustments), I decided to do this as a new plugin, instead of as an update of WP-Table Reloaded.
It will however be possible to (at least manually) import/convert/migrate tables from WP-Table Reloaded to TablePress, so nobody has to worry ??

I’m not yet sure about a time frame of the replacement though. Development is ongoing, and maybe we’ll see a first public (i.e. non-alpha) release in July or August, depending on my development progress.

    Regards,
    Tobias

Thanks for explanation. I feel all advised.

A reloaded table does not have to be so complicated but can be so I am sure some will be happy to note you are not cutting all strings – or at least not until TablePress is ready to take over.

I noticed someone requesting WP-Table Reloaded being able to work with files from where ever. Real time auto import, the works. If I remember correctly you said nope, not possible. Just in case you cant think of any more to add to TablePress ?? Even if this should mean what ever other feature then cant work on tables it would be nifty.

    Hi,

no, of course WP-Table Reloaded will be continued until TablePress is ready ??

And yes, thanks to the new design and structure, it should be possible to implement things like auto import more easily.

    Best wishes,
    Tobias
