No, it can only merge terms, i.e. replace the aliases with a single term.

ok thanks scribu, that still works. is that a one time merge? if future tags come in from authors will they automatically fall in-line if they’ve been merged before? or is this manual one time merging?

Automated merging has been requested before. I would add it, but there are only so many hours in a day. Patches welcome.

    Hi

I would also need similar thing, to merge all “numerical” tags into one textual.

Reason: I use title to tags, so I get too many prices in tags. It has option which tags to exclude, but then I would have to make a list of all exclude prices, which is almost impossible

    Possible?

    Thanks

Even without automated merging, this is a godsend for me on my aggregator site that uses FeedWordPress. I accidentally set it to create new tags for syndicated content rather than trying to match existing tags, and this really helped me clean it up. I was able to merge 109 (yes 109) terms into one super-quick. I like that I can type in the slug, too, and it’ll merge everything to the category with that slug.
