• Hi

I am a complete newbie to this plug-in (and indeed WordPress) and have a question on templates.

In ‘The Event Calendar’ setup I have chosen my own template file which works OK. I have chosen to use ‘html before and after’ the calendar.

Is there any way when I choose an event from the calendar and the single event page opens that this ‘before and after html’ cannot be shown and just the single event details are shown?

    Thanks!

  • Hi johnlegget97. Welcome to WordPress, and thanks for using The Events Calendar. It sounds like so far you’re getting the hang of things nicely. I will definitely suggest checking out our recently-published themer’s guide for The Events Calendar if you haven’t already (https://tri.be/themers-guide-to-the-events-calendar/), as it’s directed at folks such as yourself looking to customize.

As the guide indicates, you should be able to make this modification by copying over your single.php file to a new ‘events’ folder in the theme directory, and making your changes there. Give the guide a go and let me know if you still have any questions from there. Cheers!
