  • Thanks Mark. Anywhere we can see this to check it out? Would love to share it with the community on our Facebook page, etc.

Ah, awesome! Let me experiment with this a bit and get back to you.

    This is fantastic.

I did have to remove line 153, the fclose($fp), it was erroring.

Could you set up the sync to happen on a WordPress action hook? If so, people can use wp-crontrol to make it happen on a regular basis.

    Hey,

Yeah i had to removed the fclose($fp) line as well but it still isn’t working for me, thought I suspect it is something I am doing wrong. I get both the success messages…
    “Updaing all facebook events…
Events Calendar updated with current Facebook events.”
But still I see not events under the events tabs that have been added. And when I check the https://www.facebook.com/events/upcoming there are loads of events. Are these necessarily for events that created or does it work for event you have been invited to as well?

Any thoughts on Myth_Pharaoh’s response, Mark? While we aren’t supporting this plugin ourselves, as you built it you may have a better idea than I do…

Myth, sorry for the delayed response – been buried in a project.

The plugin is designed to publish only event you create.

    You should see something like:

    Updaing all facebook events…
    Updating:885 Updating:1077 Updating:1079 Updating:1081 Updating:1083 Updating:1085 Updating:1087 Updating:1089 Updating:887
Events Calendar updated with current Facebook events.

Where each event that is updated is listed – If you see no events, then it didn’t find any events to update. In the case you are not seeing events, I’ll recommend the obvious to check your AppID, Secret & events uid. If you’d like me to take a quick look, please email the 3 previous items and I’ll let you know what is going on.

Scott, this is the obvious next step for the plugin – been so busy with things, haven’t quite gotten to it yet – hopefully soon…

    Thanks for sharing, Mark ??

Modern Tribe has reached out and offered to co-maintain the plug-in. This is great news, as they will be helping to ensure current and future compatibility with the Events Calendar Plugin.

We’re pumped about it! Thanks again for building this, Mark ??

I also modded it to accept a comma-separated list of object IDs. My comedy company has two pages it maintains for different troupes, but we wanted both on the website. Perhaps you could add a multi-select option like that in the future to the plugin?

version 1.0.3 has been released – added support for WordPress timezone offsets and auto update capabilities.

Good idea Scott, I’ll add it to the list…

    cheers,

ok, I had some spare time today and couldn’t resist – released 1.0.4 which allows events to be merged and synced from multiple Facebook pages.

    Nice! Thank you Mark!
