I can’t seem to figure out how to prevent the event calendar from showing up as transparent. I would like to change it to a calendar that is not transparent. Currently, with the calendar changing and becoming transparent, I am unable to see the events because it blends into the background photo from my website. How do I change the calendar to return to the way it was originally with a solid background color instead of being transparent.

  • Hi Sheilaal11. Thanks for the note and sorry to hear you’re having problems. The first thing I’d suggest right off the bat would be to play around with the different templating options under Settings -> The Events Calendar. The plugin comes with a couple of its own and your theme may have some; in certain situations, changing the template is all you’d have to do.

Otherwise you may want to take a look at the events.css file to see if it has what you’re looking for. If you are going to modify that file make sure you’ve done a template override: ie, create a new ‘events’ folder in your theme directory; copy the events.css file to said folder; and make any modifications there. This way your changes will be saved next time the plugin is updated.

Hope that helps. If you still have any questions or if that doesn’t get you where you want to be, let me know.

I am not very techy as you will see by my following question. How do I purchase, download and apply the Event Calendar Pro to an existing website?

I already use the free version of Event Calendar.

Hi Sheilaal11, you can purchase Events Calendar Pro right here: https://tri.be/wordpress-events-calendar-pro/

In Settings|The Events Calendar Settings, Template tab, the Events Template was set to Default Events Template and giving us a blue (actually transparent) background. When I switched it to Default Page Template it changed to the white we want and had been seeing before. This solved the problem for us.

Not sure if one of my editors had changed it or the latest update caused this behavior (we are on the latest and greatest).

This is the free version, 2.0.6 and WP 3.3.1

i get a blank page unless i have the events calendar template selected.

I’m also having trouble with the transparent background

    Hi guys,

You’ll need to play around with the CSS to fix the transparent background.

    Cheers,
    Jonah

Hey, gryhielny: you have any luck modifying the CSS here?

I might be having the same issue here. When I have default page template enabled, not a problem other than the fact that it doesn’t format the way I would like. However, when I choose default event template, all static text takes on the same color as the background; I can tell this by selecting and dragging my mouse over the text area.

Any solutions to this? Is it my theme that’s causing the problem or is there something in the css I can edit to correct the issue?

Hey again todyhy. Interesting; I’ve seen a number of issues related to this the past couple days so I’m wondering if something else is at play here. Any chance you’ve got a link you can share?

Ditto my note in the other thread, Tony ??
