    Hi,

I’ve got a english menu navigation and chinese menu navigation on top of the events calendar, I would like to redirect it to different navigation reading from different menu, in the sense when its in english menu, it stays for the default is in english and when chinese menu, the navigation would change to Chinese above the events calendar, I’m using session to differentiate the pages.

May I know which file and function can I alter to change this to make it work?

Or is there any chances to embed the calendar in a wordpress page?

Hello Mintc! Thanks for your note here, and for your use of The Events Calendar. For your first question, just so I understand what you’re trying to do: are you saying you want to have two different templates, one for English and one for Chinese, that provide different views of the menu navigation? Or am I misunderstanding the goal there?

In terms of embedding the calendar itself…by default the calendar lives at /events on your site, but if you’re willing to use template tags (as detailed at https://tri.be/support/documentation) they provide generally the degree of flexibility you’d need here. Take a look and let me know if that doesn’t help you out, though.

    Hi Roblagatta!

Yes! What I mean is different templates, so when a user, say he navigate to Chinese menu, whichever he selected, be it event list or jump to month view it would still be in Chinese navigation, what I’m working with actually jumps back to my English navigation when I click event list on the grid view of the calendar ??

    Appreciate your reply roblagatta!
I’ll go try out this method and will let you know if it does or does not work!
    Good day! ??

Ah, I see. Thanks for confirming as much – does WPML not accomplish this for you? Based on what I’ve seen in terms of its features (https://wpml.org/), it should do the trick..but let me know if I’m wrong there.

    Ohh I see!

I didn’t come across that, hence I did not know, hmm would need to do a little bit of experiment, by the way I’m using suffusion theme for my wordpress, hopefully all solution that u mention above works! ??

once again thanks roblagatta, would get back to here as soon as possible with my result ??

    Hi roblagatta,

its no good, even though I can display the grid view in the page, but the links that are linked to the calendar still links back to /events so the navigation menu actually goes back to english again, so its quite hard to customize it, if I were to customize, it will be a huge redirection of the links haha ??

Hi again MintC. Thanks for the notes, and for your follow-up. This makes sense; this unfortunately sounds like something that is probably outside the scope of what I can support, but you may be able to build this with enough patience. If you did I’d love to see the finished product…but we sadly don’t have the development bandwidth to provide guidance on such an endeavor.

Hope that helps and sorry I couldn’t offer up more. If you need anything else or have other questions, please let me know; otherwise I vote we close this thread out.

    Hi Roblagatta,

Yes you can close this thread, appreciate your help even though we could not slove this problem, once again, thank you ??

Glad to be of service here, Mintc…and thanks for confirming as much. If you need anything else in the future, just give me a shout and I’ll do my best to help you out.
