  • This plugin displays posts that you label as events.

Login and take a look at the site dashboard. View a post and you should see a panel introduced by the plugin called “The Events Calender” that will show you the options.

Configure the plugin in dashboard at Settings “The Events Calender”.

Posts are labelled a events category. They are displayed in a list and calender at /category/events/ in addition to where ever your posts are normally displayed.

Is there a way for me to add events without them showing up as posts? I am setting up a Web site and want the events to show up on the Events page. Also can I remain the Events page?

Have you tried the Advanced Events Registration plugin?

In 1.6 there is a toggle in the settings to show / hide events from your main loop. If you need it today you can try the beta2: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/398872?replies=1.

So shane, you are essentially saying that 1.5 can’t do what I am asking which is to hide the posts from the main blog page and just post onto a sub page within the site? I need 1.6 to do that?

1.5 can’t do it without an additional plugin. There are many exclude cat plugins and at least 2 threads on the support forum dedicated to how to use them to accomplish your goal. In 1.6 we simply built the feature in.

super. I’ll 1.6 out. Thanks. I confess that being new to all this, it’s not as easy to search the forums as one might think. if you don’t use the right keyword, you can miss stuff. But thanks in advance.
