• I am using thesis 1.8.2 and I was getting a notification about open hook plugin which says

If you are upgrading from 2.x.x, be sure to FIRST upgrade your options via Settings -> OpenHook; otherwise, you may find your customizations have vanished!

    I don’t find this Settings -> OpenHook
Rather there was Appearance -> Thesis OpenHook

After updating all my previous customizations were gone. Then from the control panel of the plugin while I was trying to activate thesis hooks I got error like:

    /home/XXX/public_html/wp-content/plugins/thesis-openhook/functions-admin.php on line 246

I can’t activate customizations because of the error so I searched in Google and fortunately find a previous version of the plugin and then remove the most updated one and install previous one which fix my problem.

Please let me use the updated plugins and fix the issues I mentioned above.

  • It’s there now. The repository was a little slower to update this time around, which i’m told means a lot of plugins are getting updated at the moment. I dunno. Either way, it’s up now, so go hammer it and tell me what’s still broken.

(Confession: I’m by no means a coder; i’m a tinkerer… i love customization & enabling customization, which is why OpenHook was created in the first place. It’s a labor of love, and i wish i had the professional skills to live up to its popularity. I thank all of you for sticking with it through the bugs!)

Thanks Rick! Everything looks/works great now :o) I appreciate your fast response and even though you say you’re not a coder, you sure have done a fantastic job with this plugin. :o) Thanks again!

You’re quite welcome. Always a pleasure to hear from OpenHook’s users. Keep me posted on any other issues that may crop up!

With any luck, future updates will be to add slick new features rather than to fix my foibles. ??

Upgraded, checked all the boxes, but none of my hooks are appearing.

Did you hit the button on the OpenHook General tab to upgrade the OpenHook 2 settings?

Yes, they’re there on the OpenHook page but they aren’t showing up on my site. What am I doing wrong? (100% certain it’s ME)

I’ll gladly take a look if you’re willing to setup a temporary admin account for me ([email protected]). It’s hard to diagnose when i can’t really see what is happening.

    Got this while upgrading again

Version 3.2 messed up my blog. Downgraded to 2.3.2!
Will update the plugin later on…

I decided to downgrade to 2.3.2 as well.

How does one downgrade to 2.3.2?

How to downgrade OpenHook (or any plugin, most likely):

    1. Deactivate then delete the plugin from your plugin page.
    2. Download the zip file of the version you want to install. This can be found on the main plugin page, under FYI > Other Versions. For OpenHook you want version 2.3.2. Find that here:
    https://www.ads-software.com/extend/plugins/thesis-openhook/download/

    3. When downloading DO NOT extract the zip file.
    4. Go back to your plugins page and click on Upload. Follow the directions and then activate the plugin. That should work.

BillHector, thank you, that was so helpful and now all my customizations work again! Was in a bit of a panic this AM once I realized what happened. Really appreciate the step-by-step help (especially since the internal workings of my site are still a bit murky to me).

Bill – thank you, thank you, thank you! much better

Thanks for the ideas guys. I’m going through that page you linked for ideas. I’ve tried Bill Hector’s solution, it doesn’t change anything.

Nothing is showing on any of the blogs I’ve updated the ‘Open hook’ plugin from version 2.3.2 to 3.3.1 apart from the title of the uppermost blog post and the categories.

This is so infuriating! I’ve removed the plugin, deactivated/activated it, run through the recommended steps when updating from version 2 to version 3 ‘click active action groups Thesis and WordPress and click upgrade from Open hook 2’. I’ve also tried removing the plugin and installing the same earlier version again, and installing version 3.0 instead.

I still get the same issues. The title of the uppermost post shows on all these blogs, my categories, and the subscribe to blog link. Nothing else shows, and clicking nothing works, it just goes to a blank page.

The error when first updating was ”The plugin thesis-openhook/thesis-openhook.php has been deactivated due to an error: Plugin file does not exist.’

I’ve even tried installing another theme and it still shows the same problems somehow!
