Could you send me your settings?

Thanks for the quick reply. Here’s what I think you want:

    IMAP server
New posts to the mailing list are fetched from an IMAP server.

    Host name(Required field)* [ mail.example.com]
    Port(Required field)* [ 143]
    SSL [Field is blank]
Use an SSL connection to the server.
    Ignore certificate [X]
Connect to servers with self-signed SSL certificates.
Other imap_open settings [Field is blank]
    See?imap_open’s PHP man page.
    Username(Required field)* [uname]
    Password(Required field)* [password]

User Name and Password are those associated with the List Name mailbox. Perhaps this is wrong but was my best guess as to what should go in these fields.

These three lines are repeated in the log every two to three minutes and don’t change regardless of what I try in the IMAP server fields.

2011-04-28 13:43:31errorMailbox for ‘[email protected]’ could not be opened!
    2011-04-28 13:43:31debugQueues cleaned up.
2011-04-28 13:43:24debugCronning. At most 1 to be collected.

You don’t have mail.example.com as the hostname, right? You actually have the name of your imap server?

Right. I’m in the middle of trying to defeat some spammers so I didn’t want to post the real URL.

Then unfortunately I can’t say what’s wrong. As long as the hostname, username and password are correct, and the ssl+cert settings are correct then it should work.

Try to get a hold of my on [email protected] and I’ll see about connecting to the server somehow.

It was a case of incorrect imap settings, nothing more.

    Thanks for the help Edward.

For the benefit of others reading this thread I can’t say enough about Edward’s responsiveness and dedication to getting things working whatever the cause. In this case the fault was not with the plug-in but Edward never suggested that it might not be his problem, he just quickly went about finding and fixing the configuration error.

It’s a nice piece of code and works as advertised.
