  • What code on your sidebar? The plugin is only written to work inside of posts.

    Hmmm…

The documentation doesn’t specify where it can or can not go. This might be a good thing to add…

“This plugin allows users to create custom popups or tooltips on their sites. The style and behavior of the tooltip are highly configurable through CSS and through the WordPress dashboard.”

Is there any reason why you can’t use it in the sidebar?

You’re right – I should be more specific. I’ll tweak the description. I’ll also check into providing popups throughout the site. Offhand I’m not sure what plugin creators do to have their plugins insert code into the template itself. My plugin only executes when a post is saved or viewed, and can only affect the post contents.

If you are semi comfortable with JavaScript you could use the dom_tooltip.js file in the tippy directory to insert the tooltips into your template.
