Cool plugin! I like the unique feature it provides, so kudos to you for this.

I wonder if you would be open to a couple suggestions?

1: What do you think about adding a settings section, with the ability to add/remove messages to the loop of messages available?

2: What do you think about a feature, allowing message groups to be assigned, based on user Roles (I.E. Administrator, Editor, Author, Contributor, Subscriber, & No Role for this Site)?

My thought is to allow specific messages to appear, based on your Role on the site? Of course, this feature would need a way of being enabled/disabled.

I appreciate your feedback and am open to both of those ideas. I will have to see if I can make some time to add them in!

In regards to #1, you can already do that and more with the exception of removing messages from the default list through the Replace Howdy settings page (under the settings main menu). I will definitely look at adding the ability to remove/disable messages from the default list though.

As for #2, it will be an interesting challenge to implement that using as little code as possible to keep this plugin running as lean as possible.

    Thanks again for the feedback!

@davidwood – I guess I did know there was a settings section already for adding messages based on a mode, just not the ability to quickly see/modify/delete messages.

The modes, built in to TM Replace Howdy, may actually be the best place to integrate #2. One of the modes, could be “Role Based” and a list could be created for each role.
