[Plugin: Total Slider] Can't create a new slide group

  • Hi,

    When I create a new slide group I just get the “Could not load the selected Slide Group. Does it exist?’ error message. When I then check the list of slide groups I find a group with a blank name. Clicking “Edit” results in a “No Slide Group selected” error page.

    I’m hosting this on WP Engine.

    Any idea what the problem is? It looks like you’ve done a great job with this plugin and I really want to try it!

    I’m Peter Upfold, the developer of Total Slider, also posting on behalf of the Van Patten Media account!

    Sorry for the problems you’ve run into with Total Slider.

    To begin tracking down this issue — do you have any other plugins and/or custom code in your theme? It is possible there might be something else installed that is causing a conflict.

    What name did you use for the slide group?

    Are you aware of anything special about WP Engine’s hosting that has caused issues with other plugins in the past?

    If WP Engine give you direct access to your database, could you run, or ask them to run, this SQL query on your database?

    (For example, using the SQL tab in PHPMyAdmin, and assuming the database prefix is just wp_):

    SELECT * FROM wp_options WHERE option_name LIKE 'total_slider%'

    This will show all the raw data for Total Slider. The raw data will show us exactly what slide group information Total Slider did save, and it might help us track down exactly at what point something has gone wrong.
