Solenyi:
Thanks for trying out Total Slider, and for your feedback!
We believe using widget areas is the “right” way to incorporate Total Slider into a website, as in the best way to do it while using WordPress’ core functions. We also recognize that adding widget areas might be an inconvenience to developers, so we’re certainly open to hearing more opinions and adding new ways to integrate Total Slider into your site if the community calls for it.
As for adjusting the size of the slider: this is by design and not likely to change. Theming in Total Slider is built primarily with designers and developers in mind, so changing your slide group’s appearance will mean getting your hands a bit dirty.
However, as Total Slider’s theme architecture matures, we hope to release a number of pre-made themes in sizes and shapes that will fit a variety of websites (and hope others do the same). This will make customizing Total Slider a lot easier for people new to web development and WordPress, as it will simply require uploading your theme of choice to the right spot in your WordPress directory.
We’re happy to help with any specific questions you have though. It looks like you know what you’re doing with your specific problem (adjusting the size of the slider) but if you need further guidance we would be more than happy to help.
All the best,
Chris
