• Hi,

I’m using the Dokan multi-vendor plugin with the pro version.

I have downloaded the .po et .mo files for the french version. Unfortunately the files were not 100% translated so I used PoEdit to finish the job.

Then I uploaded the files in the following repertory: /wp-content/plugin/languages
It is the recommended way by Dokan documentation to avoid overwritting during updates.

    I named the files:
    – dokan-fr_FR.po
    – dokan-fr_FR.mo

Some of the translations are working but still, I have some pieces of text which stay in english.

I don’t know if there are other translation files ? For example I see that you have the dokan.po and dokan.mo in the /wp-content/plugin/dokan/languages repertory. Could that be related to my issue ?

It’s the first time I use PoEdit and translate manually a plugin. I followed exactly what the documentation said but still having issues.

If somebody could help me, that would be appreciated.

    Thank you.

  • Hello

I’m french PTE (I can validate your French translation in https://translate.www.ads-software.com/locale/fr/default/wp-plugins/dokan-lite/) if you translated https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/dokan-lite/

Do you use Free Dokan Plugin or the repository Dokan plugin ?

I use the pro version of Dokan.

But if I’m not wrong, the dokan-lite is complementary to the dokan (pro version) ?

Which means I have both folders:

    – /wp-content/plugin/dokan-lite –> dokan-lite-fr_FR.po and mo files.
    – /wp-content/plugin/dokan-pro –> dokan-fr_FR.po and mo files

I used the link you sent to download both of my files, and finished it manually (81% translated).

The main problem by adding your premium string is wp-content/plugin/dokan-lite is you will lose them on next update (same for Pro translation)

Dokan-lite translations files are automatically downloaded by WordPress during updates in wp-content/languages/plugins

I don’t know how Dokan developers load their translations but adding
    – dokan-fr_FR.po
    – dokan-fr_FR.mo
    to wp-content/languages/plugins should work.

The best should be you send your premium translation to Dokan and they add them into their plugins directly.

Sorry my bad, they’re actually on the /wp-content/languages/plugin folder. Sorry !

I’ll update as I can the translation on the dokan official translation.

But still, I’m confused of my .po files not working (completely)

I’m sorry, Dokan is a non free plugin and can’t help you more. You should contact their support and ask them to add your translations in their plugin.
