First off, if you have restored it, I guess your readers will return, I don’t get why you do the 301 redirects instead of making sure stuff simply works.

Regarding your cpu load, did you install apc, xcache or memcached?

I don’t really know what else can be done.

Originally I relied on everything just working but noticed that Webmaster tools was reporting the issue. I’d expected the restoring to work but it doesn’t seem to have.

Currently using W3TC, memcached for caching and beta Google XML sitemap generator for XML and WordPress SEO by Yoast for my SEO.

Any suggestions you have would be great,

Hi Ofer,

The errors in Webmaster Tools are 404 related.

I had a quick question for you, what’s the effect (on database size, page load and URL list) if I use the

“Delete Automatic Translations over 14 days old”

option?

Exactly what will that do?

Deleting old translations will reduce the database size, but will increase the load as new translations will have to be created.

Are the 404 #s going down?

Hi Ofer,

No the 404 errors have reached around 34,000 – increasingly steadily and doesn’t seem like they have been resolved.

Not sure where to go with this, considering extracting my posts to a fresh wordpress install as a last resort!

A fresh install will probably not change the 404 ratio.
