• When publishing or saving a post in WordPress I receive this error:
Tumblrize could not crosspost this entry because Tumblr has rejected your username or password.

I have checked and rechecked my Tumblr login info in the settings, disabled other plugins, etc. with no luck.

Was working earlier but I think it stopped when I updated the WP version from 3.3.x to 3.4.x

    Great plugin otherwise!

can someone recommend another plugin that essentially does the same job as tumblrize? maybe we can fix the plugin too? what do you guys think>?

That’s why we’re all posting here. There isn’t really another plug in that works like tumblrize and unfortunately no one seems skilled enough to bring the plug in up to date.

The Nextscripts: Social Network Auto Poster has just been updated, presumably because of this issue.

It works, and also supports several other Social sites.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t auto-update posts that have been edited after their initial publishing.

I didn’t realize how much I’d miss Tumblrize!

I will look into that! Thnaks!

It works! Gotta configure it to show up how you want but yay!

@teratoma: Thank you for that info!

Does anyone have any suggestions about how to recruit someone who could update the Tumblrize plugin?

I am also having the same issue, although I just downloaded the plugin for the first time today. Are there really not any other plugins that work because of the tumblr update?

    Hi there,

I’m one of the devs for Tumblrize.

I’m sorry you guys had so many issues over the past weeks. This is mainly because Tumblr is deprecating its v1 API which was used by our plugin.

There is a solution. However due to the lack of personal time, I won’t seek to implement it.

I’m thinking about retiring this plugin unless my buddy has time and will to update it.

I’ll keep you posted in the next days regarding a potential, alternative solution.

NextScripts works for me. Not the same as Tumblrize but it does work. Takes a bit of configuring to get it to show up how you want it to.

ijulien- please do keep us posted! As you are aware, there are few scripts that do this correctly and tumblrize works perfectly for so many of us.

I haven’t been able to get NextScripts to work for me yet. I have their support people in the loop now. Must have something to do with my computer settings or the particular template I use, Socialike, which uses Woo Tumblog.

I miss Tumblrize, although I am glad that the one issue I had with WP has disappeared since I deactivated it (mentioned in a previous post here in the forum, WP getting hung up after posting something and then trying to view All Posts…having to close the window and reopen it).

ijulien, if your buddy wants to update Tumblrize and wants to address that issue, feel free to contact me for more information: [ redacted support is offered via the forum and not email ] — Thank you, ijulien, for giving us an update! ??

NextScripts support found out that the reason their plugin wasn’t working on my WP site is because I have another plugin, Share and Follow, that has something not working right in it that is causing THEIR plugin to malfunction. If any of you are having trouble with NextScripts, WP to Tumblr Auto-Post, that’s the problem. Disable the Share and Follow plugin and everything works beautiful.

Now, the question is, What Share/Follow plugin is anyone using that DOES work? Suggestions?

    Janet

Thank you for the NextScripts SNAP suggestion. I did find a bug in it but once I squished it, it’s been amazing. I even paid for for the additional functionality for G+ and Pinterest which I also appreciate because it looks like they let you tap into their code outside of WP as well.

Only other issue I had was that I had another plug-in that was hooking in to the the_content filter and was modifying the result to something different than I expected, but I kludged it and all is well again.

    Where did you find your:

    Tumblr OAuth Consumer Key

    and

    Tumblr Secret Key

    I can not find it.

@kapees: I spent HOURS trying to figure this whole thing out, and then I had a problem that I spent all day working with NextScripts support to resolve yesterday.

Start here to register API: https://www.nextscripts.com/setup-installation-tumblr-social-networks-auto-poster-wordpress/

“Tumblr uses OAuth to provide authorized access to its API. You need to register Tumblr application and get “OAuth Consumer Key” and “Secret Key”. Then you will need to authorize your WordPress blog.”

That link will direct you here: https://www.tumblr.com/oauth/apps

There is a link to NextScripts support on that first link. I’ve been working closely with Ludwig, and he’s been very helpful.

    Janet

Directions are on this page here. You have to register an application and then it gives you the codes to put in.
