    Hi,

I have installed the latest version of the plugin on top of my WP v4.5.2 but when i go to a page/post and click on the icon – i am just presented with a dropdown box to select a widget and it does not show any add/remove/edit options – its just a plain white ovelay page. I tried deactivating and even re-installing the plugin but am getting the same issue.

    Theme : Customizr
    Widget : Featured Post Widget

    Thanks,
    Shiv

Hi all, update from me following some user texting. The fix I mentioned above does seem to address the problems being faced that showed similar symptoms. I’m working on a maintenance release now and it should be release shortly.

    Hey all,

v1.0.3 has just been released that hopefully fixes the issue you were all seeing – I’m hopeful I finally managed to reproduce the scenarios that were causing the issue.

Please let me know if you’re still hitting issues.

    Hi Todd,

I only installed the plugin today, and it exhibits the same problems as mentioned above: Mostly blank screen, with ability to select a widget from drop-down but nothing else.

    WP: 4.5.2
    Plugin: 1.0.3
    PHP: 5.6.22
Tried in both Chrome and Firefox with the same result.

I have two dozen other plugins installed – if there are known conflicts, please let me know.

    Thank you,
    Ilya

My issue is similar, but maybe a little worse…I get an opaque overlay on the whole screen, as if I am going to see a modal window, but it never displays. Just downloaded this a few minutes ago.

    Theme: Zerif Pro
    WP: 4.5.2
    Plugin: 1.0.3
    PHP: PHP Version 5.5.9

In Chrome, I can see what appears to be a partially loaded dialog box (under the overlay) but there is no text or anything in it.

In Firefox, I can see that the partially loaded box is actually showing a “progress bar” but it never stops progressing.

If it’s a different issue, I apologize — I can start a new thread if you prefer.

    Hi Ilya and Kalico,

I’ve re-opened this as obviously something is still not right… thank for reporting and for the details.

@ilya would you mind letting me know which theme you are using?

@kalico, I don’t have a copy of Zerif Pro so I’ve tweeted the makes to see if I can get a localhost version for debugging.

In the meantime I’ll do my best to recreate the setups to try and recreate the issue.

    Sorry for the pain,
    Todd

Update I have just tested using basic WordPress 5.4.2 with TwentyFouteen theme on PHP 5.5.9, 5.6 and 7 and no luck in seeing the issue ??

Looks increasingly like it might be a theme or widget conflict… I really hoped I’d got this licked.

@ilya and Kalico do you mind also listing the plugins you have?

    Thanks

    Hi Todd,

I am pretty sure this problem is not theme-related. I have tried it with 3 themes: my current one is derived from Minamaze, before that I was using a customization of Zerif Lite, and I still retain files from the very old iNove that dates from around 2009. The behavior of your plugin is identical with all 3 themes in my case.

I would more readily believe that there is a conflict with another plugin. Here is the list of the ones I use: Admin Menu Editor, Akismet, Easy FancyBox, Enable Media Replace, Flash Video Player, Flexo Archives, PirateForms, Global Content Blocks, Jetpack, jQuery Categories List Widget, Kimili Flash Embed, My Link Order, Photo Gallery, Quick Featured Images, Revision Control, WP Broken Link Status Checker, WP Product Review, Yoast SEO.

Hopefully this helps. I really like the idea of your plugin for what I am trying to add to my website, so keen to see you resolve the issue.

    Many thanks,
    Ilya

    Ilya,

Thanks, this is very useful… and yes it looks like it could be plugins. I suggested themes initially as there was a conflict with some of the widgets that the Atahualpa theme had built in.

I’ll get a setup running with these plugins if I can and will let you know how I get on.

Thanks again for all the details.

    Ilya,

I’ve just run a quick test and got up to the Flexo Archives plugin before I saw an issue… and with this installed I saw that Turbo Widgets stops working.

    I also see quite a few errors being output with WP_DEBUG set to true;

Notice: Undefined property: FlexoArchives::$OPT_YRCOUNT_STANDALONE in /srv/www/wp-tmp/htdocs/wp-content/plugins/flexo-archives-widget/flexo_archives_widget.php on line 111

Are you able to confirm that Turbo Widgets works as expected with Flexo Archives turned off?

I will have a look into why the conflict is occurring and to see if I can work around it, though it looks like Flexo Archives has some issues of it’s own (and has not been updated on 5+ years).

    Hi Todd,

Yes, that did it. I deactivated Flexo Archives and Turbo Widgets started working perfectly.

I can actually do without Flexo Archives in my new redesign, so you don’t need to worry about resolving the conflict on my count. Sorry I caused you anguish with an outdated plugin, but I hope the information is useful for the future.

    Cheers,
    Ilya

Cracking stuff Ilya; great to hear.

And no, no anguish at all… my aim is to make this plugin the best it can be, and I could not do that without reports, details and patience from folk like you… thank you.

    Plugin Author toddhalfpenny

    (@toddhalfpenny)

@kalico, off the back of the above posts are you able to list your plugins for me please?

    Plugin Author toddhalfpenny

    (@toddhalfpenny)

@kalico, @ilya I have just released v1.0.4 that should gracefully handle these plugin conflicts now.

Oh I’m sorry I was not paying attention to this! I will try the update, and let you know what happens. I will list the plugins if needed….but we are in a state of development right now with waaay too many plugins (plus it’s a multisite!) so hopefully your fix will just be the solution. You certainly don’t want to try to replicate my setup, lol ??

Thank you, Todd, will update and report back if I see any issues.
