Hmm, First I have heard of this issue.

Do you have any other TinyMCE plugins installed? This problem can perhaps occur when two functions are “competing” for the same result.

Note: Using the plugin, there is a button for pulling up the HTML of the page. This way, your code does not get mangled when switching between Visual and HTML modes.

However, we still need to get the issue resolved.

Also, have you tried using a different browser?

Hey Josh- Thanks for the fast reply. It’s only happening on one page, and your built-in HTML button doesn’t work on that page either (comes up blank). I’m using chrome, but will try firefox and let you know if there’s any change. The page is here. As you can see, I was trying to build an index using your anchor buttons, but the jam-up is holding me back.

@Josh- Same problem in firefox. This page has a Youtube video embedded. I can take it out and see if that’s the problem?

Yep- it’s this Youtube code: <iframe src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/gKV0ARbKP-w" frameborder="0" width="420" height="315"></iframe> How can I embed that without having it fight with your plugin?

Try using the “Insert/Embed Media” button located on the far right of the bottom row. Choose “iFrame” from the dropdown, and insert your youtube url into the url box. Lastly, set your dimensions.

Or did you use this button to insert the code originally?

    Hey Josh-

I tried inserting the video using your button and choosing “iFrame” but it didn’t insert anything, so I inserted it directly into HTML. this is still a problem, because WP editor for that page is still not responding unless I delete that video, so any time I want to edit that page, I have to take the video out first, then re-insert.

Okay. I’m working on replicating the problem now. Be patient with me while I work this out.

No rush, Josh. I’m just glad I found your plugin- I was just looking for a plugin to add anchors, but yours does so many other things I’ve always wanted!

    Post back your results!

I haven’t given up on this. In fact, I am making progress. I know it’s a conflict using the ’embed’ and ‘object’ tags. There is a way to have to have the editor not strip these tags, but the trick is getting it to work from the plugin. Will post back again with new results.

I checked your page above and LOVE your use of anchors. I’m going to link to you from my blog page, if you don’t mind, showing it as an example of what you can do.

Thanks, Josh! It’s one of the most useful plugins I’ve found, and well supported- don’t know where you find the time!

Check out the use of anchors created with your plugin in a floating sidebar (Strx floating sidebar plugin) here!

    Oh Yeah!! That’s awesome!

Okay, I have made a workaround for adding iframes with the editor.

This is addressed in version 1.5.5. I just posted the update, so it’ll take a few minutes to filter down to your upgrade section.

This is explained in detail in my supporting Microsoft Word documentation found in the settings page in the admin panel.

If you have any trouble following this, or if you find this works for you, please let me know!
