I am at the end of my ropes with the “Similar Posts Plugin”. I uninstalled it but the “Related Posts” text still shows up at the end of my single post page. I deleted the whole plugin folder with my FTP program but unfortunately that “Related Posts” text still shows up at the end of each post.

It is also not a theme problem, because I have tried to change the theme and regardless it still shows up.

Does anyone have any pointers for me as to how this can be fixed?

Extremely grateful for any help – loving WordPress. Thanks.

Did you clear your computer’s cache/ cookies?

    F5

    or
    in Firefox Ctrl+Shift+R

    Or in Your internet options

    Hi there,

thanks so much for your answer. Yes, I cleared up everything and it still shows up. Really a mystery – the only thing I can imagine is that this plugin has changed some other file.

Would you mind if I took a look at your site… what is the URL?

Absolutely. it is theromejournal(dot)org – if you click on one individual post and then scroll down, you will see that “Related Posts” are mentioned at the very end of the post, and the plugin seems to be working even though I deleted the folder.

I went and downloaded the theme to check the files to see if they had anything to do with this issue. Unless there is a code within your single.php template for related posts, that would be my only guess if it were on your side.

However, I would try de-activating, then deleting the plugin from your WordPress admin panel one more time, and then make sure it is not there on the backend. If still in your server, try deleting from there. If it still remains, ask your webhost why you are having a server cache issue like this.

Thank you so much for taking the time to answer. Unfortunately, there is nothing in my single.php template for related posts, and the plugin does not exist anymore in my wordpress files. The folder is gone – I keep checking – and I emptied my whole cache folder (in wp-content). I am reinstalling my whole WP installation now…

I have reinstalled everything, and it is working fine now. Thank you so much for having replied and helped me see that this was the only solution!
