Plugin update and translations

Hi! All of my modified translations are saved at wp-content/languages/loco so when there’s an update, modified strings don’t get affected.

But, what happens when the new plugin update comes with new string and my language version was saved at wp-content/languages/loco? The new strings in some way are added to that file while conserving the ones I modified?
