• I had created a custom template so that the text would be on the right and the photo to the left.

I followed the instructions (found here https://www.codefleet.net/cyclone-slider-2/#moving-templates-into-your-theme ) that said now template files are in the wp-content/themes/cyclone directory.

Obviously when I updated the plugin it rewrote the entire plugins/cyclone-slider-2/templates directory because where the slider is on the homepage (to the effect of) template “standard-honecutt” does not exist. When I uploaded the custom template to the new directory (and I double checked spelling) the custom template will not show up on the choices (like it had before) on the slider’s admin page.

I even tried naming the custom template ‘standard’ instead of ‘standard-honeycutt’ (including the top line of the css file).

If I upload the custom template folder to the wp-content/plugins/cyclone-slider-2/templates directory then I CAN INDEED pick this template.

How do I get a custom template to work in the correct directory so it doesn’t get deleted anytime the plugin is updated???
