Plugin Updates/Installations Report Failure Despite Success on WP Site

    I am encountering a puzzling issue with my WordPress site regarding plugin updates and installations. Whenever I update or install a new plugin, I receive error messages. For updates, it’s “Update Failed: Download failed. Not Found,” and for installations, it’s “Installation failed: Download failed. Unauthorized.” Despite these messages, upon refreshing the page, I see that the plugins have indeed been updated or installed correctly.

    Here are the steps I’ve taken so far:

    • Cleared both browser and site caches.
    • Checked file permissions, which are set correctly.

    This problem occurs with plugins from the official WordPress repository. The updates and installations are successful, but the incorrect error messages still appear every time.

    Has anyone experienced a similar issue or can offer insights into what might be causing this? Any suggestions on how to resolve or further troubleshoot this problem would be greatly appreciated!

    I am having the same issue except my error message is a little shorter:

    “Update Failed: Download failed. Not Found.”

    With the last 4 plugins I have updated I have gotten the message. It’s only 1 site on the server though. All the other sites are fine.
