Plugin updates not updating?

    I am trying out SEO redirection, and it’s strange to me that I see the plugin has an updated date here in the repository, but the version number isn’t updated.

    If the version number isn’t updated, then the plugin installed on websites won’t register that there’s an update to be applied.

    I didn’t realize this until I visited the plugin page here and saw that it had been updated on Aug 8, but the version 2.8 is the exact same version that I had installed back in May.

    What is going on? Is the plugin being updated and the version number not being bumped up? That’s a major security issue if so, and that type of updating shouldn’t be done anymore.

    With respect to these updates you mentioned in your post, these are small fixes and changes that do not need to move to another version, all these changes and fixes will be accumulated and built in the next version.
