We have just created an inexpensive commercial addon called User File Manager Front End Admin that adds multi-file drag-and-drop upload capabilities with a new client and admin shortcode. It also allows the admin section to be added into a post or page. I don’t know if we are going to create a multi-file addon or if I will build it into an upcoming version. Thanks for the suggestion.

I would like to know if these two options are going to be added to this plugin. Along with a way to archive old files into folders that I name myself?

After many emails with suggestions and ideas for the existing addons and plugin, many users have requested a premium version of the plugin. On the next release there will be many changes but some features will only be available in the premium version.

There is currently no plans to add an archiving system. You can manually do so via FTP by renaming the folders or contact me via email and I can quote you a price custom archive addon if you need one. If that is something you are interested in I will post my email. Thank you.

I still believe the archiving can be done easy by having different labels on the system. All you do is say if you want to archive, you put a new label to that file and only show active ones.

As for the idea of the folders, I am not willing to pay for a plugin to do this. I want to be able to do this for free, why can’t this be added? I think that will improve the plugin massively and others will use this too.

All in all, if I was able to add a folder say 2011, I should be able to archive a file and then drop and drag the file into the folder.

I add features if I get multiple requests for them. You are the only person that needs this or has requested this, I don’t add every feature just because someone suggests something. There were over 50 custom versions of this plugin developed in the past year, if I added every suggested feature for every individual that needed plugins altered I would work for free every day. If this becomes a feature more people are interested, in I will consider adding it. Until then, there are no plans to add this feature. You are more than welcome to alter the code yourself to make it what you need for your personal use.
