    Hi there,

Hope you are doing well !

I have read that this plugin can copy a role that already exists with new name, but couldn’t find on the admin panel. Could you help me on this ?

My requirement is this: I want to create a new role form editor role. So, i just want to copy existing role and its capabilities and wanna make it as automated script.

    Awaiting your reply.

    Many Thanks,
    Harpinder

couldn’t find on the admin panel

Go to the “Settings”-“User Role Editor” menu item and change your WordPress standard roles capabilities according to your needs.

You can even try to use Advanced Access Manager

as this plugin gives you the possibility to create new user roles.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi,

At the bottom of User Role Editor page you should see “Add New Role” box. Input name of your new role. Open ‘Make copy of:’ drop-down list of existing roles, select role which capabilities you wish to copy into the new role, press ‘Add’ button.

    Thanks Ayman.

Dear Vladimir, i am not able to find ‘Make copy of:’ anywhere on this screen. Could you please guide me through some screen shots for doing this ?

    Thanks in advance.

Go to ‘Users->User Role Editor’. Do you see toolboxes like ‘Add New Role’, ‘Add New Capability’ there. They looks exactly like on the second screenshot at this page
    https://www.ads-software.com/extend/plugins/user-role-editor/screenshots/
At ‘Add New Role’ box you will see that ‘Make copy Of:’ control element, just under “Name:” input box. Please check, that you have the latest URE version installed.
