[Plugin: Video Embed & Thumbnail Generator] serving the right file

This is a great idea. I’m going to implement it in the future. I can use media queries to server different videos based on the device’s capabilities. YouTube encodes files into about a dozen different formats. I don’t think it’s necessary to go that far, but I like the idea of at least offering different resolutions.

yeah it does seem real far to go for all of that, but on a business note, not a damn person is doing this, and some people could use this and save tons of money on bandwidth there for, your plugin would be pretty advanced, and you might consider charging for it.

i know id pay for it.

I don’t have the programming skills to make a player that allows you to select your resolution manually like YouTube does, but I do have the CSS skills to set it automatically. I think this will be a really useful feature.

im working on some things that might actually give me an income and i certainly intend on donating… your plugin is seriously the most useful one ill be using soon. on top of everything else, video is the only thing thats not easy to get just right on wordpress since theres no real video functionality.
