I use the JQuery Drop Down Menu plugin but all my menus are disappearing behind YouTube videos. I read somewhere that Viper can change YouTube vids to transparent so my menus will stay on top. How do I do that?

  • My plugin should already properly set the wmode so that embedded videos aren’t on the very top.

Only other thing I can suggest is you make sure the menu is using the correct z-index in it’s CSS.

I’ve already installed your plugin before writing in. The JQuery menu is still falling behind the videos. Tried changing the z-index value of the menu from 1 to 1000, but still the same. Should I specify the z-index in Viper? Where would I do that?

Can I get a link to your site?

Oh Alex… I found out my problem – my stupidity.

The video on the page I linked you to was embedded by hand, NOT with your plugin! You plugin works GREAT! I am so sorry for making you scratch your head!!!!!

Also, I found the solution to manual embedding of YouTube videos overlapping the CSS menus :

You have to add wmode=”transparent” inside the embed tag NOT the param tag.

Glad you got it sorted. ??
