  • This is covered on the help page. ??

If you’re embedding https://site.com/video.flv, it defaults to https://site.com/video.jpg. You can manually set the preview URL via the image parameter:

    [flv image="image url here"]video url here[/flv]

Hey Viper great plugin. In the post above you mention to set the preview URL manually via the image parameter. Where do I find that? Also is it possible for the player to take a thumbnail directly from the .flv file itself instead of uploading one every time?
    Thank you.

The image parameter of the shortcode. This bit in the above example: image="image url here"

Also is it possible for the player to take a thumbnail directly from the .flv file itself instead of uploading one every time?

No, sorry. That would require software that most servers do not have.

Thank you Viper. Where do I find the shortcode/image parameter? What file/folder will it be in?

Is it possible to include links somewhere on the player itself for viewers to be able to embed the video on their site or share it on say Facebook?

Thank you for the quick reply.

Huh? No, shortcodes are what you type into posts. One of the parameters of the [flv] shortcode is “image”, like so:

    [flv image="https://site.com/preview-image.jpg"]https://site.com/video.flv[/flv]

Duh! Thanks. Is it possible to have the video align differently on different posts and pages Viper? Currently you can set it at right, left, center and float left or right and that is the way it will appear on all pages/posts. Is there a way to override that so it can appear at different alignments on different pages/posts.

Also, would you know of any good free software to convert a .avi file to a .flv file and then be able to edit the .flv file like add images, music, titles etc.?

Thank you for the great plugin.

Viper, is it possible to add share/embed buttons to the player also to let viewers share or embed the video?

    Thank you.

Alignment: currently no, although you could probably do it with CSS.

AVI to FLV: Google will help you out. ??

Sharing: Here’s the site for the player: https://www.longtailvideo.com/players/jw-flv-player/ Although my plugin uses v4. I’ll also be ditching that player in favor for a GPL one in the next few months.

Thank you very much. How do I upgrade the player to V5 in the plugin? Is it simple? I do not want to mess it up as it is working fine for me now.

No idea. Since I’ll be switching players in the upcoming version, I haven’t looked at V5 at all.

When is the upcoming version – coming? (gonna use Flowplayer?)

Yes, I’ll be using Flowplayer. I hope to have the plugin out before WordCamp San Fransisco (May 1st).

    Fantastic. Glad to hear that.

You’ll be happy to know the sig is turned off.

Hey Viper. Is the new plugin out? Do I need to upgrade the current one I am using (Viper’s Video Quicktags) or is it a brand new plugin?
    Thanks.
