• Hi-
Can you add Kaltura.com videos to your list of video quicktags? I’m not able to paste code from my Kaltura collection of videos into WordPress. An example of this code looks like this:

    <object id="kaltura_player" name="kaltura_player" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowFullScreen="true" allowNetworking="all" allowScriptAccess="always" height="330" width="400" xmlns:dc="https://purl.org/dc/terms/" xmlns:media="https://search.yahoo.com/searchmonkey/media/" rel="media:video" resource="https://www.kaltura.com/index.php/kwidget/cache_st/1279647353/wid/_199052/uiconf_id/48130/entry_id/0_5yxspwqn" data="https://www.kaltura.com/index.php/kwidget/cache_st/1279647353/wid/_199052/uiconf_id/48130/entry_id/0_5yxspwqn"><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" /><param name="allowNetworking" value="all" /><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always" /><param name="bgcolor" value="#000000" /><param name="flashVars" value="&" /><param name="movie" value="https://www.kaltura.com/index.php/kwidget/cache_st/1279647353/wid/_199052/uiconf_id/48130/entry_id/0_5yxspwqn" /><a href="https://corp.kaltura.com">video platform</a> <a href="https://corp.kaltura.com/technology/video_management">video management</a> <a href="https://corp.kaltura.com/solutions/overview">video solutions</a> <a href="https://corp.kaltura.com/technology/video_player">video player</a> <a rel="media:thumbnail" href="https://cdnbakmi.kaltura.com/p/199052/sp/19905200/thumbnail/entry_id/0_5yxspwqn/width/120/height/90/bgcolor/000000/type/2" /> <span property="dc:description" content="" /><span property="media:title" content="KalturaCreatingPlaylists4WP.mov" /> <span property="media:width" content="400" /><span property="media:height" content="330" /> <span property="media:type" content="application/x-shockwave-flash" /><span property="media:duration" content="{DURATION}" /> </object>

Adding new video sites to my plugin is currently on hold as I’m focusing on recoding the plugin, however you can just post that code into the HTML view on your site (when editing a post) and it’ll work fine.

@rezn8r – I fixed that post for you by selecting the embed code and clicking the code button

    Thanks Andrea! ??

    Hey Alex:

Not sure if you’re aware, but your plugin conflicts with the Interactive Video plugin from Kaltura. I can’t have your plugin activated, or I get a 500 Error when I activate Kaltura’s plugin.

The site is Melibeeglobal.com. I don’t have Kaltura active, because it would take the site down, but I need to use both. What’s the deal with that?

Never heard of that plugin, but I don’t see how it’d be possible for my plugin to even create a 500 error. That’s a server issue, not a plugin issue.

@andrea_r – Thanks for the reply. Pasting the code as HTML into a WP post will work for my own personal instantiation of WP. But we are running WP MU at my university and for some reason pasting this code in it does not work. I’m thinking that it’s rejected because of the Kaltura id embedded within the code? We can’t figure out why this isn’t working, but it is specific to Kaltura it seems. I was hoping that since Viper’s plugin works with other media in WP MU then maybe he could flip the switches in the Video Quicktags plugin to allow Kaltura embed code to also function properly, especially since Kaltura media is just fancy wrapped Flash video? Does that make sense AlexM? Or is there something else I can do to manage this within WP MU? FYI, this dilemma is illustrated here:

I wonder if this could this also be related to the comment above by @tonyzeoli?
    THANX for any info …
