We have a multi-site installation of WordPress and are trying to use Visual Form Builder. However, from what we can tell, Visual Form Builder only shows up in the individual sites’ settings menu for super admins; regular individual site admins are not able to access the Visual Form Builder beyond activating/deactivating the plugin itself.

Could someone help us sort this out? Has anyone else seen this problem?

Have you modified the default capabilities of the Administrator role somehow?

If you’ve modified the default user/role capabilities, use a plugin like Members to make sure the caps match their defaults.

We have not modified the default user/role capabilities.

I have tested this by Network Activating and by going into each site and activating individually. Both of those work for me and I’m running the default setup for multisite.

Matthew, did you try it as just an administrator as opposed to super admin? I can access the forms and the submitted data as a super, but when I log into the site using Visual Form Builder (VFB) using the specific site admin I get no reference to VFB in the settings nav bar.

I downloaded and installed the Members plugin to verify the roles and all roles listed were checked for Administrator. Is there a particular role that VFB is looking for?

I didn’t try it as a regular Administrator. The capability it checks for is manage_options if that helps.

I viewed the options using the Members plugin for the Administrator role. The option for manage_options was already checked. I unchecked the option and save the role.

I then logged in as the administrator of that WP site. Most of the options under settings had disappeared as they should have.

I logged back in as the super admin, went back to the Members plugin for that site and checked the manage_options box again and saved the role one more time.

Logging in as admin for that site once again, I checked the Settings. All of the original settings had returned, but the VFB options were still not available for the administrator.
