[Plugin: W3 Total Cache] Fatal error, w3tc/dbcache could not be created

  • I am trying to install the W3 total cache plugin, followed the installation steps…but get the following error message:

    Plugin kan niet worden geactiveerd omdat hij een fatale fout veroorzaakt.
    (translated: plugin can not be activated because a fatal error occured)

    /var/www/vhosts/(domain name)/httpdocs/wp-content/w3tc/dbcache could not be created, please run following command: chmod 777 /var/www/vhosts/(domain name)/httpdocs/wp-content/w3tc

    I did chmod 777 the wp-content. After the error I created the w3tc map, but still same error message. Also did chmod 777 that w3tc map.

    Any ideas?
