[Plugin: W3 Total Cache] Infinite # of folder created on Self Hosted CDN

    I have configured plugin for self-hosted CDN. CDN files are stored in folder named ‘cdn’ and uploads and attachements are stored in a folder called ‘media’.

    All files are correctly stored in folder cdn/ however there is another folder called cdn/ which contains:
    Folder: CDN
    Folder: Media
    File: favicon.ico

    This keeps going indefinitely so the tree looks like this:
    cdn/cdn/cdn/cdn/cdn/cdn/cdn, etc. (each cdn folder contains cdn/ folder, media/ folder and favicon.ico file!)

    What is causing for this happen? I keep deleting the tree – but it regenerate again.

    Can you try the development version of the plugin please? I believe this issue is already resolved.

    Not for me! I’m having the same issue described here.

    @bt-chadski- Did you ever find a solution? I’ve submitted a bug report- waiting on help from Frederick.

    This solution worked for me:

    On W3TC CDN configuration page, I removed favicon.ico from the custom file list and added the original (non-CDN) location of the favicon(s) to the rejected file list.

    I am still able to serve the favicons from the CDN by uploading them to the corresponding location in the CDN folder and designating this location in my theme.

    This is working for me on a 2-site multisite and a single site installation, all using self-hosted CDN.

    In the current version 0.9.2.4. I’ve found it’s not necessary to add the favicon to the rejected file list. Just remove favicon.ico from the custom file list and add the actual path to your favicon, in my case: wp-content/themes/headway-2013/custom/images/favicon.ico
