    navigate to the mentioned directory
    home/vit/public_html/wp-content/w3tc

    Place the mouse cursor on this directory and open the context menu (right mouse button). In WinSCP you need the menu entry Permission, in FileZilla you select File Attributes.

    Both dialog boxes will show a mask where you can enter the “777”. This does the same like chmod (changing access rights). With 777 the plugin requires the directory to have the highest available rights (users, groups and others must be able to read, write and execute – for each role a 7 is wanted).
