  • @xinfo,

2, do i need to update my dns ? i don’t think so since i don’t use any cdn provide if i am wrong let me know

Yes, you need to update your DNS zone for the subdomain to work properly. Once DNS has propogated, using the subdomain as your CDN will improve the progressive render of your site via browser pipelining.

FTP Path: what this ? (what i should fill here

For the FTP path, you’ll want to put the path you have navigate to with your FTP client if you wanted to upload a file that would be available at https://subdomain.domain.com/somefile. The point is to make sure that the plugin puts the files in a place where your browser can serve them.

4, Replace domain in URL with: what this ? (what i should fill here )

Once you have everything set up make sure you test your FTP configuration and set the “Replace domain in URL with” with the hostnamename of your subdomain, e.g. subdomain.domain.com.

Okay, I have played with this for a couple of hours today.

Turns out that it IS working for me, the files were copying, but the response was coming through as “failed” at first.

One issue is the placement of the .htaccess file – that was not mentioned anywhere (that I saw) until I found this topic. Just a note would be useful!

Have found using the IP address works best.

When things don’t work, it is good if there’s a definitive answer to stop us trialling everything pointlessly and endlessly, like for example, saying “with(out) trailing slash” or similar where appropriate. There’s quite a lot to change when things start going wrong otherwise!

Just a bit of constructive criticism ??

Will hopefully be able to get this configured and working (currently waiting for a few files to upload while I’m hammering this out) before I will explain precisely what to do to troubleshoot the above issues (well what worked / didn’t work for me!)

Thanks for the great plugin – will be great for us scaling our little news site up if and when those numbers requires it…

    Rob
