    When using Rackspace Cloud’s XCache when saving the options a username and password is requested.

    I contacted Rackspace about this and they have issued the following:

    The reason the plugin requires the Admin auth is to flush your site related cache from the xcache which you do not have authentication to.

    The flag you mentioned:
    xcache.admin.enable_auth = Off/False/0
    Cannot be overwritten in our environment because of that restriction.

    Since we manage the caching environment for xcache we would systematically manage these files.

    So unfortunately leveraging this part of the plugin is not customizable.

    Frederick – I’m not sure if this might help with a fix for this but currently for me to admin my WP site I have to turn Xcache off. As clearing it each time causes the username and password box to appear.

    And as I cannot provide one my changes are never saved.

    Best,

    Adam

    You’ll have to work with RackSpace to address this. Setting the username and password to empty may help however.

    Where would I set the username and password?

    I was told by Rackspace Support that the XCache empties every 2 minutes & that it depends on how you set your TTL’s on Expiry Headers which determines the length of cache on files/media etc…

    Just set it to Opcode (XCache) but never actually empty it because Rackspace are doing it periodically every 2 minutes apparently.

    Your right @adskiremote

    It’s impossible to use XCache since you cannot make any updates to settings or page content without getting the XCache empty page cache popup dialog… I think Disk/Enhanced Disk is the best you are going to get on Shared Platform for reasons of security & because the way W3 Total Cache has been designed.
