• I use W3 version 0.8.5.2 on a site which pulls in RSS feeds from different other sites.

    The RSS feeds don’t seem to get refreshed for several days. If I bypass the cache (logged in as admin), I can see the fresh RSS feeds, but not as a user.

    My cache settings are:
    page (lifetime 1800 secs), minify (lifetime/external files 86000 secs) and db caching (lifetime 600 secs) are on.

    Any clue?

  • That is the nature of caching. You should start with page caching only and make sure that your site behaves how you want. Then minify and check again, the use database caching and check again, the CDN and check again etc… Lower the lifetime of the page cache and disable others until that part is ok.

    @frederick,

    unfortunately not… I disable all caching except page caching (lifetime 1800) but the cache does not refresh for days.
    I had to disable the caching.

    As the content for the entire site consists almost solely of RSS feeds, I think it generates something uniquely conflicting with the caching algorithm…

    It is a pity as the W3 caching, did significantly improve the presentation of each page…

    Are you viewing the feeds in your browser? If so, are you clearing your browser cache?
