[Plugin: W3 Total Cache] w3 total cache does not work with 1and1 servers

  • Just resolved a problem where w3 total cache was using up all my allocated memory i had through 1and1 server. Kept getting a ‘Fatal error out of memory..’ error message. I couldn’t even get into my plugins tab to deactivate the plugin. Had to use filezilla to access back end to delete w3 total cache from plugin folder and also a couple of files in wp-content including advanced-cache.php, totalcahceadmin.php and db.php

    Are you using WP Supercache now? I will give that a go…

    yeah, 1&1 gives caps you at something like 32MB, which is ridiculously small, even for a standard WP install.

    well i am at dedicated managed server with 1&1 where i don’t think there are such caps but I am going to try WP Supercache anyway.
