[Plugin: W3 Total Cache] Why does minify.php run so often every day?

Why does minify.php (/wp-content/plugins/w3-total-cache/pub/minify.php) runs more than 10.000 times per day on my WordPress Installation? It’s nearly as often as I got visitors. What does it do?
Couldn’t find anything about that here or with google.
