Only activare it site-wide if you want your users can use it.

WangGuard find unwanted users site-wide if you activate the plugin only on the main site.

Thanks ! I will activate just in main site. So that My users need not configure it though it controls the spam on sub-sites

    Depends

If your users have enabled logging on their sub-sites better than they use wangguard,

    but;

If any splogger was registered in a sub-site that has no WangGuard enabled, you might find it using a “Bulk Check splogger” though network users.

In future versions this will be resolved.

What I would do would be to activate wangguard on main site and make every day a Bulk Check sploggers (only the last day)

    Hi asshu,

The new version (WangGuard 1.1) if you enable WangGuard sitewide, WangGuard protect All registration page from all blogs.

There are a lot of new features.

    José,
I was glad yesterday when 1.1.4 came out; sploggers had slowly begun to creep back in to my site again, and lately it had reached 1-2 a day. That′s not too problematic in itself, except that it REALLY screws up my activity feed and makes it really unattractive to subscribers. So anyways, I was relieved…
I updated yesterday to 1.1.4 and this morning I found FIFTEEN sploggers in my sight. What′s up with that?

    Hi,

Some times, you can have a lot of splog.

    Why?

Because all sploggers come from the same “SEO”

All emails or domain email are new and the IP’s are clean.

If you report the users, in the next days you will see wangGuard working fine again.

We have some buddypress installations than are into the default list of sploggers softwares. That communities have 3 or 4 sploggers every day, some days that communities doesnt have sploggers and some days have 10 sploggers.

Every day WangGuard add 300+ emails, 400+ domain and a lot of IP’s. All of them are new.

Please, report all users and update us on following days.

    Thank you

Day two of 1.1.4 update. Not much better: my activity feed has 19 items, all having to do with splogger activity. Other sites with rss feeds to my site have complained. I′ve visited their sites, and they′re right: it really is horrible. What can I do? This is starting to threaten the survival of my small non-profit project.

    Ok,

Go to configuration and create two or three questions.

Ex, How much is 5*10?, write the answer with letters and low case.

    Answer: fifty

That will fix your problem with bots.

    Regards

Great! Just did it. I′ll let you know tomorrow how it went.
I′m really impressed by your response time, BTW, congrats.

    You’re welcome ??

Day 3: sorry but I created the questions, and there seems to be no improvement: 17 items on my feeds this morning, all splogger activity. I think I made a mistake, though: I posed math problems and then wrote the answers in numbers, rather than letters. I′m going to change it now and let you know tomorrow.

    Hi,

Which WordPress and/or BuddyPress version do you use?

Please, go to Dashboard now and copy the WangGuard statistics.

Tomorrow compered it and, update with the result.

With that, we will see how many sploggers are blocking wanggaurd and how many sploggers bypass WangGuard.

Near every question, you will see a question statistics. Update us with that tomorrow.

    Regards

Day 4: SUCCESS! No splogs created and I′ve checked feeds for any activity other than my site′s; there all clean.

I′m using BP 1.2.8 and just updated yesterday to WP 3.1.4.

WangGuard statistics show no change from yesterday morning (657/331) but the question statistics show a total 30 wrong answers, so I guess its working (I would have thought that would reflected on the WG statistics as well…?)

    Thank you very much!
