  • After you logged in…Save the Widget Logic options, located at the bottom of the Widgets page. Do you have any firewall plugin installed? Deactivate it, and save the Widget Logic options. My second checkbox is checked, and select Load logic when all PHP loaded, and reactivate your firewall plugin.

And try this to log in:

    Resetting the plugins folder

Sebastien, I don’t have a firewall plugin installed.

    The firewall step was optional…

And have you tried to save the Widget Logic options?

That solved the problems on my website.

Hi Sebastien, as long as the plugin is intalled, I cannot login, so this is not possible for me. I have to delete it via FTP to be able to login the backend of WordPress. I am assuming its a conflicting issue with another plugin which is unfortunate.

I’ll have to look elsewhere. I can’t wait for WordPress to come out with a efficient sidebar/widget solution for specific categories/pages/posts etc.

This error appears like if it’s from another plugin, but it was not the case for my website, I have encountered several false problems because of this, and I am assuming that each website having this plugin installed has different variations of this problem.

Install it again, make sure that you save your Widget Logic options.

And what about those steps to log in?

    1. Via FTP or your host’s file manager, navigate to the wp-contents folder (directory)
    2. Via FTP or your host’s file manager, rename the folder “plugins” to “plugins.hold”
    3. Login to your WordPress administration menus (/wp-admin)
    4. Via FTP or your host’s file manager, rename “plugins.hold” back to “plugins”

    Hey Sebastien,

Thanks for all your help. If a plugin makes me do all that just to get it to work, then its simply not worth using. I am going to look at alternatives.

i have WL running on WP 3.4.1 with no problem at all. If you have any insight or troubleshooting info on what happened here, I’m happy to help.

Hello, from what I have seen on my website, any plugins that were outputing JavaScripts with a PHP file were returning (NetworkError: 500 Internal Server Error). My hosting provider helped me to eliminate any hosting problem. And when I finally applied the solution, everything went back to normal.
