    Hi

Sorry I’m stupid, but I really don’t know where on earth I should add this:
“Add the shortcut [widgets_on_pages id=x] to the page or post in the place where you’d like your widgets to appear.”
(in some php?, somewhere in WordPress?)

to be honest I don’t understand this either:
“(where ‘x’ = the id of the sidebar to use (or the name if you have named it such as [widgets_on_pages id=TagCloud])”.

Where could I have name this sidebar?

This is my first Worpess site and I’d just like to add an widget to main-content area.

    Hey urpo,

I doubt you’re stupid… we all start off at some point ??

    So, if I have this straight you want a widget to appear inside a static page’s content? If that’s right then you need to do the following;

    1. Install and activate the Widgets on Pages plugin
    2. Go to the Menu->Widgets options page and drag the widget you want into the “Widgets on Pages 1” sidebar (widget area). In the header of this sidebar you will see something like [widgets_on_pages id=1].
    3. In the page when you are writing it (so in the editor) write that shortcode (the [widgets_on_pages id=1]) into the content
    4. Preview the page… you should see the widget

Some lovely person has made a youtube vid on this… you can see it here

Please let me know if you’re still having issues.

    Great news… good to hear!

hmmm… I’m having the same type of issue.

I’ve tried the instructions above, but no joy. I’m using Genesis with the Outreach child-theme. I installed Widget on Pages, went to Appearance – Widgets, dragged Recent Posts in Widget on Pages on the sidebar.

Then I went on the NEWS page and entered the shortcode: [widgets_on_pages id=25]

    But nothing is showing…

    Help?

    Regards,

    Andre

I, too, am having the same issue. I’m posting the shortcode into my theme’s (Catch Everest) Homepage Featured Content Options area and it doesn’t pull up the widget. Any idea? I also watched the YouTube Video which is exactly what I did.
