• I had to reset my smartphone and lost all accounts in my Google Authenticator app. As a result, I deactivated and removed the Google Authenticator plugin. I then re-installed it to my websites but it only gives me the option to save which roles need to use the 2-step login but it doesn’t give me any new codes to setup the accounts in the GA app.

  • Hi, thank for reaching out to us.

I carried out a test in my dev site. I carried out the following steps to try and reproduce your issue.

    – Log into the site and deactivated and deleted Google Authenticator plugin.
    – Then I logged into the dev site again using a different browser and as expected the Google Authenticator Code field was not displayed in the login widget.
    – Logged out again from the site.
    – Logged into the site again using the other browser and installed and activated Google Authenticator plugin again.
    – Went to my profile and clicked on Active and then clicked on Show/Hide QR code button.
    – Then I opened the app in my mobile phone and scanned the QR code.
    – Then I went to the other browser to log in again and I noticed Google Authenticator Code field was displayed again. I entered the code from my mobile phone and was able to log into the site.

I can confirm that the plugin works and that deleting and installing a fresh new copy allows you to scan a new QR Code on the mobile phone.

    Kind regards.
