Plugin Won't Reactivate After Being Deactivated

I had to deactivate the better wp security plugin, after logging in I went to re-activate the plugin and it stays deactivated. Tried deleting it and reinstalling it and it re-activated but then it wouldn’t let me login. Any help with this would be appreciated.
