I have been looking for updated solutions to “harden” my WP site, and just now installed the WordFence Security plugin in my WP system (v3.4.2). Immediately after installation I got this error:

The plugin generated 195 characters of unexpected output during activation. If you notice “headers already sent” messages, problems with syndication feeds or other issues, try deactivating or removing this plugin.

Can someone tell me what this means and whether or not I should remove/disable WordFence Security? Maybe it has something to do with other plugins I have installed:

    • All In One Favicon
    • Exploit Scanner
    • JetPack by WordPress.com
    • Quick Cache
    • Shortcodes Ultimate
    • Ultimate TinyMCE
    • Velvet Blues Update URLs
    • WordPress Move
    • WordPress SEO by Yoast
    • WP Google Fonts
    • WP Missed Schedule

Help with this issue is very much appreciated. The URL for my website is blogs.elizabethsebastian.com/pop-psych.

    Thanks.

I have had several reports of this occurring but have not received a detailed list of plugins like this. Very much appreciated!!

I’ve updated the issue and we’ll get this fixed.

    Regards,

    Mark.

    Do not ever assume a function exists in plugin development. Always use if(has_action(‘action’)){ #codetoHook }
and try not to modify or try to send headers before wp_head Hook ( Or i believe its wp_head anyways ).

    Hope this helps!
