    What host are you using?
    What are your PHP memory and time limits set to?

    The memory limit is 24MB and the max_input_time is 60. I can PM you a link to my php info file if you wish.

    That would be great.

    24MB should be enough for most files, 60 seconds is very short and is probably your issue. If the backup cannot create the database backup in 60 seconds it will timeout and php will kill it.

    Can you increase this value to a few minutes?
