• Hi!

Great plug-in…it seems to be working fine. But I’m getting an “error message”:

Backup warning on 2011-10-14 at 11:14:38: file ‘uploads.zip’ exceeds 40 percent of your PHP memory limit. The limit must be increased to back up this file.

It still appears to complete (the backup)- but is this a problem? I downloaded the TPC Memory Usage plug in…and it says my PHP Memory Limit is 128MB (plenty enough) and my wordpress memory limit is 32MB. Is this Ok? I’m still not sure what it should be, if it needs to be changed at all…or how to change it.

    Many thanks!

    James

    Gday James,

If that zip file is over 51 megabytes it cannot be uploaded to Dropbox because the current API requires the file to be placed into memory. In the tests that I did php requires at least 60% of the memory allocation to perform the task.

It would be nice if it streamed up but that will require me to re engineer the PHP API.

    Cheers,
    Mikey

my files are like 5mb and it can’t do the back, I get the same warning file ‘xxx’ exceeds 40 percent of PHP

I get the same error, and I have no idea what to do to fix it, or how to get around it. It seems like that file is important to be backed up, correct? HELP?

Michael, I get this error when uploading the backup of the database of one of my sites.

Just my two cents: wouldn’t you consider zipping the sql db before uploading it to DropBox? This is what I am doing at the moment, via a workaround (I installed another plugin that does just that, backup the db and then compress the .sql file)
