• Hi guys.

I am having a problem with the plugin I cannot solve.

I have it installed on 2 different sites. On one of them it works perfectly, no problem whatsoever.

I have installed it on another blog, the page shows up, all the files show up, but when I click on DOWNLOAD it returns a 404-File not found.

I have uploaded the files normally, the .htaccess file has been updated, but I cannot make it work.

The files get uploaded in uploads/2009/08, when I upload a file the URL shows up correctly. The page downloads is called SEO Guides, the URL is my-site/seo-guides .
In the configuration of the plugin I set up the custom URL as my-site/seo-guides/

    In the .htaccess there is

    Options +FollowSymLinks
    RewriteEngine on
    RewriteRule ^seo-guides/([^/]+)$ https://my-site.com.au/wp-content/plugins/download-monitor/download.php?id=$1 [L]

It seems correct to me, but I guess I am missing something. I looked at the other blog where the plugin works fine and I haven’t found any difference.

Please help, it would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you.

    Stefano

  • I have just noticed the same thing and traced the issue on my install to members only download. When I uncheck member’s only the the download works fine. Have yet to look into the underlying cause but in the plugin saw that Mike had changed the Member’s only download behavior. Unsure if that triggered the issue.

Temporarily, I have disabled member’s only for those downloads.

I did that too, but it still doesn’t work.

The url shows up correctly (my-site.com.au/seo-guides/file-name.pdf) but it returns a 404…

I know, this is old topic, but I still have this problem. Help me please ?? thanks

Most of my viewers can download .pdf file with no problem. But quite a few viewers just report the same problem.
