• Hey all.

I’m not sure if this is a result from an update I did to the plugin or what, but for some reason, as of 12 hours ago, all of my download links are no longer working.

When they’re clicked, the page just redirects to my sites Home Page with this in the browser URL bar:
    https://site.com/wp-content/plugins/download-monitor/download.php/?id=5
I was alerted to this from my visitors.

Anyway, I tried re-creating the database, didn’t do anything. I have no idea how this happened. Any help please?

    Thanks.

You have to resave your wordpress permalink settings after updating.

By resave I’m assuming you mean go to Setting > Permalinks and click “Save Changes”, right?

I did that (permalink seetings hadn’t changed from Custom ‘%postname%’ but I clicked “Save Changes” anyway and nothing changed.

Still havin’ the same issue ??

    Thanks, but any other ideas?

IN that case its permissions issue. FTP to wp-content/plugins/download-monitor and make sure the folder and files are readable.

Sorry for the delayed response. Thanks for trying, but that wasn’t the issue either. (All folders files are readable)

I hadn’t touched anything for a good two weeks on this website’s server/wp-admin page (besides updating the plugins).

Should I maybe downgrade or something? I’m assuming once I upgraded this plugin is when this problem started, but I can’t be certain. Even if that’s the case I can’t be certain that downgrading would solve the problem either…

download.php and download monitor folder to 755 – try that. Im 99% sure its permissions still…this is not the first time this has cropped up.

    Hey again.

    Thanks again for posting.

Anyway, I thought that was gonna do it, as download.php wasn’t 755. Anyway, I changed it to 755 (the plugin folder itself is already 755) but it’s still not working ??

I was about to go through every file making it 755, but I doubt that’s the safest/most logical thing to do…

    Any more ideas?

    Thanks again.

    Whats the websites url?

    Thread Starter ralph23

    (@ralph23)

    It’s https://forthelose.org

Download any of the WordPress themes on this page: https://forthelose.org/ftl-themes (Where it says “Download this theme for free”)

    Thanks

Something must be up in your htaccess file because if you browse to https://forthelose.org/wp-content/plugins/ you get a redirect error. Should just see a blank page.

    Thanks man, that was it.

Somehow an .htaccess file was created in my /plugins folder. Fixed now.
