• I’m preparing to send a campaign HTML email to approximately 400 recipients and thought I’d be clever and have the source of the email’s banner image hosted on the campaign website.

By doing so, I figured with the appropriate plugin I could count how many times the email was actually opened since only opened emails would fetch the banner image.

I found and installed WDM and gave it the explicit WordPress URL for the banner image, but after opening the email twice, the WDM’s hit count hasn’t budged.

I’m using the Catalyst Theme (version 1.4) and the the banner image was uploaded and stored within the Catalyst Theme’s own directory rather than WordPress’s more general media directory.

Any suggestions on whether my USE-CASE can be addressed by WDM and if so, what I might be doing wrong.

  • Did you find a solution to this?
I’ve shared the link of an uploaded file in the email. But the counter doesn’t increase.
