[Plugin: WordPress File Monitor Plus] After moving & upgrading – Keeps showing the same error

  • Recently I moved my site’s installation to a different directory in the same server. After the move, I updated “File Check Root” in “WordPress File Monitor Plus” settings.

    I also upgraded to WordPress 3.3 around the same time.

    After these two changes, I keep getting this particular error. The error is

    Files Changed: 0
    Files Added: 0
    Files Removed: 1

    Files Removed:
    /path/to/file.name

    Even though, I put the file name in “File Names To Ignore” and “Exact File to Ignore”, I still get the same error.

    I do not know if the plugin stopped working or it is going through some kind of loop. I’m aware that this plugin is not compatible with 3.3. I see there are two people who clicked “works”. But, I’m not sure, if this issue is due to the recent upgrade or due to recent change in the directory structure.

    I tried disabling, deleting and reinstalling the plugin without any luck.

    I enabled debugging and this is what I got regarding this plugin…

    Undefined index: sc_wpfmp_scan in /path/to/wordpress/wp-content/plugins/wordpress-file-monitor-plus/wordpress-file-monitor-plus.php on line 84

    I choose “File” as the “Data Save Method”. After the recent change in the directory structure, I didn’t allow the web server to write any files by default (to improve the security). I added an exception for the folder “data” inside the plugin directory and it works fine now.

    I wish there is a way to notify the user that the data can not be stored and to check the permission.

    Alternatively, if I choose “Database” as the “Data Save Method”, it works as expected.

    Basically, it is working fine with WordPress 3.3 and after the move.

    Hi Pothi Kalimuthu,

    Thanks for the heads up on the file save method. I will put a check on the settings page to check for write permissions before allowing to choose file save method.
